The Move Begins Long Before the Flight
A move does not start at the airport. It starts months — sometimes years — earlier: with a decision, doubts, money, documents, healthcare, downsizing, preparing property, learning a language and finding people in a country you have never lived in. I left Russia for Cyprus at 24. Now, after more than two decades here, I am dismantling that life in my mid-forties to begin another one in Argentina. This chapter is where that long beginning is recorded.
